wat do u think it would take to become a special agent? and for how long?

It depends on what agency wants to work. They all have different needs. For the FBI, there are two good ways to increase your chances of getting in: 1-go to college, join ROTC, receiving a commission in the military, do their time and then applied to the FBI (I personnally know several people who have managed in that way). 2-Go to college and get an accounting degree (many of the FBI investigations of financial fraud). Option 1 (above) for the FBI is a great way to work your way in many from other government agencies too. The main reason that military officers were recruited due to the extensive security background investigation is required for those positions. Background checks can take up more than 2 years, depending on the necessary safety distance. And the military has already done all the work. Matt contained Disqualifiers several, but often overlooked is its financial history. Nescessarily Bankruptcy will not disqualify you, but do not look good. Nor a lot debt. But if you show that you can manage your finances – do not write bad checks, calling creditors after your money, you should have no problem in that.
