"Hopewell Rocks" is definitely a four-star, well above the hype. There are sections for RVers in the parking lot. Entrance fee is good for two consecutive days. There is an interpretive center, restaurant, gift shop, and a playground for children. Going to the beach while the tide remains low. The high tide is expected around 4:30 am and noon had passed. Walk down the paved trail and follow the signs to the pots, the attraction main. There are many benches to rest and two KYBOS (latrines) and balcony and stairs leading to the beach. A shuttle service is also available for those too tired or physically disabled to take the rise of one dollar each way, a nice convenience for those who need it.
A sign of the beach entrance warns people about to get back to safety, without being caught by the tides. The tides in the Bay of Fundy, are among the highest in the world. In Hopewell Rocks, who were expecting a high tide of 36 feet. That means the tide ebbs and six meters per hour. The highest tide expected this year is on the moon new in October, which is 49 feet, 7 feet per hour increase. A person aware of their environment is itself surrounded by water in no time.
The pots are pillars sculpted by wind, tides, water freezing and thawing. Originally started as the caves of the sea. With increasing erosion, is formed The deepest cave and a pillar. The roof of the caves and has a free-standing pillar with trees and grass on top of it: Ergo, a pot. A walk through not only reveals the beach piers, but many. There are signs of caution and cables to warn people to stay out of the caves and among the columns, because of the fall rocks. The low tide was at 10:30 am. So the tide was rising at a rapid pace. Parts of the beach and were inaccessible. At the appointed time I went to the beach (hair white and wisdom sometimes does not go hand in hand) and started to record the movement of the tide from the beach into a movie. People gathered around the world: a gentleman of Germany, many people on the tour of Canada and the USA. The staff personnel are available to answer questions and to make sweeps of the beach. They are very nice, really enjoys the privilege of seeing the wonders of Mother Nature constantly at work.
The reason why the admission fee is two days is because a person may not have the time to be with the tides. Another reason is that the park could be closed when the tide reaches its zenith or nadir.
